Human Resource Officer

HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER (1 POST) JOB GROUP K” 

Job Summary
•Reporting to the director, successful candidate will Analyze, plan;
manage recruitment programs and the hiring process to ensure that HR
service provided meets the needs of NCPWD.

Academic Requirements and experience
•Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management or Higher Diploma
in Human Resource Management
•At least 3 years continuous experience in Human Resource
management in a busy Office preferably in humanitarian organization.
•Must have worked with disability Organization
•Current membership of the relevant professional bodies; KIM,IHRM
•TNA, TOT in HIV/AIDS, Drugs alcohol &substance abuse certificate.
• Age: between 32 to 37 years.

Key Competencies
•Good understanding of the laws of Kenya especially those relating to the
work place issues including Employment, human Rights, Disability Act,
Ethics, health and Safety, HIV/AIDS, Dispute Resolution and Taxation.
•Proven ability to supervise and manage a large and diverse team.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Team building and leadership skills

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Manage all human resource activities to include employment,
compensation, labor relations, benefits, and training and
development.
•Manage the recruitment process: Interview job applicants; review
applications/CVs; evaluate applicant skills and make
recommendations regarding applicant’s qualifications.
• Prepare and maintain company salary structure, job
documentation, and job evaluation systems. Complete salary survey
questionnaires.
• Conduct new employee orientations.
• Implement and regulate the appraisal and evaluation systems.
• Administer benefits to employees; serve as liaison between
employees and insurance carriers.
•Gain updated information on labor laws in order to resolve labor
relation issues.
• Recommend training and development courses.
•Maintain human resource data bases, computer software systems,
and manual filing systems.
•Liaise with the local and govt. authorities.
•Ensure timely Workers Compensation Policy review.
•Ensure the statutory compliances on time.
• Statutory Compliances Checking of labour status NSSF deposits,
Monthly NSSF return
•To handle the grievances and disciplinary issues in the council &
harmonious working environment across all employee levels.
•Effective execution of HR strategy determined by management.
•Ensure excellent relations with management and employees.
•Ensure the efficient and effective use of implemented HR policies
and procedures.
•Ensure complete understanding of Company practices and
knowledge of external industry best practices with a focus on
continuous improvement.
•Implementation of human resources policies.
•Maintain personnel files of Employees.
•Preparing reports for payment of salaries within time.
• Preparation and submission of statement of NSSF and NHIF and other
statutory acts.
•Conduct Recruitment, Induction and Training programs for new
employee.
•Job placement
•Managing Medical scheme for welfare of the employees.
•Preparation of full & final settlement of resigned employees.
• Ensuring timely confirmation and probation of the employees.
• Leading, mentoring & monitoring the workforce to ensure efficiency
and sustaining a dynamic environment that motivates the personnel.
•Ensuring prompt resolution of employee grievances to maintain
cordial management-employee relations and achieve dedication
by workers.
•Monitoring statutory compliance at all levels involving liaison with
external agencies, Govt. authorities & Labour Office, etc

Terms of service: Permanent
Salary: Ksh 26,323/-
Allowances:
House: Ksh10, 000/-
Medical: Ksh1, 250/-
Commuter: Ksh1, 800/-
Commuter: Kshs. 1,800
