Accountant (salary range 40k)

This is a role responsible for overseeing the company`s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems; ensuring compliance of financial statements with IFRS and IAS policies and procedures and guidelines and professional ethics. The role holder is expected to perform undertake the following duties:

* Compiling and preparing company annual budget and ongoing budget monitoring and reporting
* Preparation of annual and management accounts;
* Ensuring timely preparation of accurate monthly expenditure reports
* Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The main responsibilities in this role include:
* Achievement of targeted sales and budgeted profit margins.
* Making sure that the company products are distributed in relevant stores.
* Ensuring that products are well rotated using the first in, first out principle.
* Monitoring product performance in the stores.

The Human resource Manager will be responsible for driving the human resource strategy and managing human resource department.

The Primary Duties of this role will include:
* Develop and implement a human resource strategy that is focused on assisting the business to meet its objective.
* Liaise with line managers to understand their business strategy and workforce requirements and develop HR /people plans accordingly
* Manage the performance management system and ensure its effective execution through the line managers.
* Coordination of the process of talent acquisition, including sourcing, recruiting and integrating newly recruited staff into the organization.
* Manage the staff training and development function including conducting TNAs, developing appropriate training interventions, maintaining a current skills inventory, managing staff career development and succession planning.

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Senior Accountant- Stocks Ref: FIN-SAS-NOVEMBER 2010
Reporting to the Principal Accountant – Stocks; the job holder will ensure accuracy and completeness of inventory reporting and costing by ensuring that all stocks purchased by the business are properly recognized and valued for inclusion in the financial ledgers in accordance with the Vodafone Accounting policies and International Accounting standards.

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
* Process all stock transactions through Oracle and eliminate month end entries at GL level except on accruals only;
* Ensure that stock transactions / movements (purchases and sales) are agreed to purchase ledger and sales ledger on a monthly basis;
* Prepare monthly cost of sale and balance sheet schedules in accordance to provisions of accounting standards (IFRS) and Policies (Vodafone/ Management);
* Reconcile physical stock balances, the stock ledger and the inventory control account in the general ledger on an ongoing basis;
* Review stock valuation module on an ongoing basis ensuring that all relevant cost elements are captured;
* Ensure a complete spares catalogue exists in the stock ledger for all engineering spares and receipts and issues of spares are processed;
* Ensure a stock movement report by quantity and cost is prepared on a monthly basis;
* Review and report monthly stock take reports by warehouse/care center managers and follow up on the variances;
* Carryout a complete stock take report on a quarterly basis and investigate and issue a report on variances noted;
* Obtain full management approval for stock adjustments resulting from stock take exercise;
* Facilitate detailed Training of the Safaricom stock handlers;
