Nation Media Group, the leading media house in East and Central Africa is seeking to recruit an experienced and self motivated individual to the position of Events Coordinator.
The job holder will coordinate events, road-shows, outside broadcasts, presenter appearances and all other on-ground activities to enhance communication, visibility and listenership for brand growth while facilitating that we are true to our vision of being the Media of Africa for Africa.
Key responsibilities:
* Planning, organizing, coordination, promoting and facilitation of radio related on-ground activities;
* Identifies, schedules and maintains suppliers for defined events;
* Liaison with line managers to aggressively gather information on each project to achieve quality event standards;
* Conduct research, make site visits, and find resources to help staff make decisions about event possibilities;
* Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process. Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters;
* Day to day events finance tracking and closure of accounts;
* Assist with preparing events budgets and provide periodic progress reports to relevant persons;
* Coordinate appointments and visits to see our space, and scheduling of events on the calendar;
* Provide reports on events, their outcomes, key learning and value add to the business;
* Plans and coordinates administrative activities for radio CSR programs;
* Achieve event department budgets & targets as agreed on an annual basis.
Qualifications, experience and skills
* Degree in PR, Communication or marketing;
* At least 3 years experience in events coordination and management;
* Excellent communication , proof reading , writing and oratory skills;
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments with a variety of staff and suppliers;
* Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism;
* Ability to work with little supervision;
* Fantastic customer service ethics and quality management;
* Ability to present & sell concepts & products to prospective clients.
