Context analysis
Currently, Handicap International is actively implementing HIV and AIDS initiatives in 11 countries in the world (9 in Africa and 3 in South East Asia). In support to these different projects, a Technical Advisor on HIV and AIDS is providing technical assistance from Nairobi,Kenya. The Advisor is seeking an intern to support her on specific areas of work.
 
Objectives
To provide active assistance to the organization of a 5-day regional HIV and AIDS
workshop, in close collaboration with the HIV and AIDS Technical Advisor and Logistician
of workshop host country
To conduct a literature review on HIV and AIDS, in linked with disability, SRH and SGBV
To conduct a sub literature review on existing tools/guidelines related to disability

GENERAL INFORMATION
TechnoServe, Inc. is an international non-profit economic development organization founded in 1968. Its mission is to help entrepreneurial men and women in poor rural areas of the developing world to build businesses that create income, opportunity and economic growth for their families, communities and countries.
I. PRIMARY PURPOSE
The TechnoServe Coffee Initiative works with small-scale farmers in Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Tanzania to produce higher-quality coffee and to command premium prices in the global coffee market. To manage and track the Coffee Initiative, TechnoServe has developed a centralized Monitoring and Evaluation system using a variety of open source products. This system is constantly growing, both in scale and functionality. The primary purpose of this internship is to develop resources to help manage and maintain this system.
2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
These will evolve over time:

1. Initially, work alongside the Regional IT Manager in order to become familiar with:
* TechnoServe’s M&E data model / database
* Data management and report creation / distribution tools
* Data entry applications (web- and SMS-based)
2. Provide first line support and maintenance for the M&E system, including:
* Reference data management
* Report fixes and modifications
* Ad hoc M&E data requests
3. Participate in the development of new M&E system functionality

components in which the technical unit seeks improvement and development is communications and
knowledge management (KM).

Under this component there is a demonstrated need for support for which
it seeks to enlist an individual on an internship basis in agreement with his/her field of study related to
communications and possibly KM.

1.General objective of the internship

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Office Administration
- Performing general clerical duties including, but not limited to answering the telephone, photocopying, faxing, mailing and filing
- Ensuring proper working of office utilities e.g. telephone, electricity and water
- Maintaining hard copy and electronic filing systems
- Receiving Filmaid’s visitors, with a positive attitude

- Ensuring steady supply of office stationery and keeping record of usage; also ensuring supply of office supplies like beverages, toiletries and cleaning supplies.
