Job Description:This is an excellent opportunity to work for a progressive travel company that can offer an excellent career path. We are based in Nairobi, Kenya. Your task will be :-
Selling holiday and travel products to customers;
Meeting sales targets as set out by the travel agency manager;
Dealing with complicated customer itineraries;
Handling customer orders and payments;
Liaising with tour operators and other key partners such as hotels and airlines regarding bookings and schedules;
Undertaking general administration;
Advising clients about passports, vaccinations, visas, foreign currency, travel insurance, car parking, car hire abroad and excursions in resorts;
Dealing with complaints;
Using and updating it skills, since information on holiday packages and bookings is usually accessed via a network;
Organizing displays of promotional material.
Skills/Requirements:
- An advanced diploma from a recognized training institution
- Minimum of 1 years travel consultant experience and must have Galileo certificate.
- Be able to navigate websites quickly and find required information
- Have an excellent knowledge of African geography, especially East Africa
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook (Webdesign will be a real plus)
- Strong numerical ability for calculating costs
- Have the necessary writing & sales skills to close a sale via phone / internet
- Have a good telephone manner and strong communication skills
- Be able to work under pressure, sometimes for long
- Possess excellent organizational skills and be able to multi-task
- Have the ability to work well as part of a team
