To provide reliable and courteous advice, research and design, develop, manufacture, and test tools,
engines, machines, and other mechanical devices as required in management of transportation service
to customers with safety as a top priority.
The incumbent should be able to:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer‐generated reports.
Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system
malfunctions, and provide technical information.
Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment,
systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make
recommendations to maintenance crew.
Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs.
Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and
equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing
methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs.
Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering, construction, or extraction projects, and prepare
contract documents.
Establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule, and supply
of materials required to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed condition.
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Required Skill set:
Engineering and Technology ‐ Knowledge of the practical application of engineering. This
includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and
production of various goods and services.
Mechanical ‐ Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and
maintenance.
Design ‐ Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of
precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Administration and Management ‐ Knowledge of business and management principles involved
in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique,
production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Computers and Electronics ‐ Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic
equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Job Specifications:
Must be a engineering Graduate
Should have at least five years experience
Should be at least thirty years old
Must be fluent in both English and Kiswahili, both written and spoken
Must be ready to work out of station for at least 50% of time.
