Re-Advertisement for Vacant Positions

1. Deputy Principal (Finance, Planning & Development)

Qualifications

Applicants for this post must meet the following minimum qualifications:
  • Be at least an Associate Professor with an earned PhD in a relevant discipline (such as Economics, Finance, Project Planning and Development)
  • Have at least eight (8) years of academic experience at a senior position in a University setting with a demonstrated capacity for leadership and academic excellence.
  • Have held senior administrative posts such as Dean/Director of a Faculty/School.
  • Be familiar with the national education policies and current trends in higher education world-wide

  • Possession of an earned MBA will be an added advantage.
Interested candidates must submit a two-page typewritten statement on their teaching philosophy, strategic planning and development of higher education.

They must demonstrate how their past experiences would enable their discharge of duties and responsibilities that go with this post.

Confidential assessment of the applicants' suitability for the post should be sent by three (3) referees directly to the undersigned.

Responsibilities

The Deputy Principal (Finance, Planning and Development) shall, under the general direction of the Principal coordinate physical infrastructure planning and development, maintenance and repair of existing facilities, development of Master Plans, Procurement, Preparation of Budgets, Expenditure Control and Revenue Collection and perform such other duties as may be assigned or delegated to him.

Terms and Conditions of Service

Successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration, medical scheme and other benefits applicable to a Deputy Principal of a Constituent College of a Public University in Kenya.

Employment will be on a five (5) year contract term, renewable once depending on performance.

2. Registrar (Administration) 

Qualifications

Applicants for this post must meet the following minimum qualifications:
  • Be at least a Senior Lecturer or Deputy Registrar with an earned PhD in a relevant Social Science discipline.
  • Have at least five (5) years of academic or work experience, three (3) of which must be as a Senior Lecturer or Deputy Registrar in a University setting with a demonstrated capacity for leadership.
  • Have held administrative posts such as Chairman of Department or Head of Department/Section.
  • Be familiar with administration in educational Institutions of higher learning.
  • Being a member of a professional administrative or management body and possession of a Diploma or post graduate qualification in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
Interested candidates must demonstrate how their past experiences would enable their discharge of duties and responsibilities that go with this post.

Duties of the Registrar

To assist the Deputy Principal (Administration) in coordinating the functions of all Heads of Departments/Sections within the Administrative Division such as Human Resources, Central Services, Health Services, Security Services, and Transport and Garage.

The Registrar Administration will also be expected to assist in the coordination, formulation and implementation of Human Resource Policies relating to Staff Training, Recruitment, Staff Evaluation, Staff Benefits, Labour Relations, Staff Conduct and Discipline, Job Descriptions, Scheme of Service, in collaboration with Heads of Departments/Sections concerned and to perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

3. Finance Officer
Grade 15

Applicants must have a Bachelor of Commerce degree and an earned MBA (Finance and Accounting option) Degree or equivalent postgraduate qualifications from a recognized University.

In addition, they must have CPA(K) or its equivalent and be members of a recognized professional accounting body. They must have at least ten (10) years relevant experience at a senior level in a large organization or have worked as a Deputy Finance Officer in a Public University.

They are expected to have Information Technology skills and be proficient in computerized accounting.

This is a senior position and to succeed, one must have the ability to supervise and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. One should have high integrity and ability to work with multidisciplinary team of professionals.

4. Deputy Finance Officer 
Grade 14

Applicants must have a Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent and an earned MBA (Finance and Accounting Option) degree or equivalent postgraduate qualifications from a recognized University.
