Our client, an international NGO, works exclusively in the rural areas, helping young people escape poverty by ensuring that the youth receive a quality education which is complimented by a strategy that seeks to increase incomes of the poor by breaking the poverty cycle, and increasing incomes through promoting savings.
Reporting to the Country Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for improving the quality of the country programme by:
* Providing technical assistance, direction, support and oversight to achieve total quality;
* Playing a key role in the overall leadership and direction of the organization as a member of the senior management team;
* Coordinating the design and review of the organization's strategy and annual plans to ensure maximum impact of program activities;
* Facilitating the development and timely submission of quality project proposals to donors;
* Supporting the country team in identifying new project initiatives and writing concept papers and proposals in line with the program strategy
* Defining the Monitoring & Evaluation standards as well as key performance indicators for all programmes
* Encouraging a culture of reflection, impact measurement, and impact-evidence generation in programmes
* Vetting all programmes for quality and relevance to national policy frameworks; as well as compliance with donor requirements
* Identifying staff and programme skills gaps and recommending appropriate ways of addressing these;
* Facilitating research into what other NGOs are doing locally; determining best practice and incorporating it into the program.
Qualifications, skills & other requirements
* At least a relevant master's degree from a recognized University;

The Kenya Ministry of Defense (KMOD) PEPFAR Program is supported by the Walter Reed Project and seeks to improve the management of HIV in the military throughout the country. The Program coordinating office is located at KEMRI/Walter Reed Project offices off Mbagathi Road.
In order to continue providing the required care, monitoring and evaluation services to Kenya Military, KMOD PEPFAR Program seeks to recruit dynamic, innovative and experienced person to fill the following position:
Job Title: Quality Assurance Coordinator
The KMOD/WRP Quality Assurance Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring all KMOD/WRP studies and projects are of the highest quality.
The responsibilities will be in the areas of:
* Directing the staff in the execution of clinical protocols
* Monitoring and Evaluation
* SOP Development and Maintenance
* Lab Quality Control.
He/she will be reporting directly to the program Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop overall Quality Assurance master plan for all studies and program activities with the approval of the Director. These plans will be used by the Quality Assurance Coordinator and the KMOD/WRP staff to guide and ensure that all aspects are being maintained at their highest levels.
These activities include, but are not limited to the following areas:

Proficiently perform quality sampling and testing of products in PMD or SMD, record accurate product quality results in a timely manner, record number of defectives, quarantine defective products and initiate corrective action.
The job holder is required to ensure that all manufactured products meet the customer and product requirements and to keep all work areas and equipment clean at all times.
Key Responsibilities
i. Operations/ Professional/ Business
* Continuously monitor visual and physical parameters for cigarettes, filters, packets and outers in accordance with the Finished Product Inspection (FPI) protocols, record all relevant information and take corrective measures as and when necessary/ continuously monitor tobacco parameters
* Setup specifications in freeway/Visual Quality Displays (VQDs) system
* Verify that the correct specification cards and materials are used in the production process.
* Place beetle traps, monitor and recording beetle counts.
* Ensure brand changes are properly executed
* Issue correct product specification and dies to operators
* Check RH as well as temperatures in the factory to ensure conditions are within prescribed limits
* Report Non-conformance / faults found, in line with relevant protocol.
* Crosscheck all equipment daily before use and document appropriately.
* Maintain the work environment in a clean and safe state through proper housekeeping and 5S
* Learn to check all machine detectors and interlocks by simulation to ensure their proper functioning.
