Water Sanitation Manager Jobs For Kenyans

Western Equatoria State – Southern Sudan £27,297 – £30,332 p.a.

CAFOD, one of the UK’s major aid agencies, is looking for a Water and Sanitation Manager (Watsan Manager) for its projects and activities in Southern Sudan. The Watsan Manager will have overall responsibility for the planning, management, operation, coordination and regular monitoring of the project to ensure smooth implementation of the watsan and hygiene promotion project activities.
These include development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation as well as strengthening the technical capacities of the project team members. Moreover, the Watsan Manager will ensure effective procurement and distribution procedures, control and watsan budget management, logistics and warehousing systems that meet CAFOD’s supply chain procedures and donor requirements.

The Watsan Manager will also supervise the drilling contractor and assist the CAFOD Humanitarian Project Manager to deliver a successful and effective project.

We are looking for a strong manager with good technical skills together with strong financial management and writing skills. Programme development skills are essential to ensure the programme responds to changing needs. Excellent skills in programme monitoring and evaluation will be necessary to ensure quality. Strong PRA skills to ensure community management of water and sanitation facilities are essential.

The post holder will be a strong people manager, able to motivate, coordinate and lead a team of local partner, local staff and international staff to achieve programme objectives. Proven capacity building skills are essential. Finally, strong and wide ranging personal qualities such as self motivation, team building and flexibility will be a critical factor for success.
