Jobs Opportunity Kenya: Financial Analyst

Our client is a leading global health organization with programs targeting malaria, child survival, HIV and reproductive health. Working in partnership with the public and private sectors, the non profit organization provides life-saving products, clinical services and behavior change communications that empower the world’s most vulnerable populations to lead healthier lives.

Supporting the Country Director, the Financial Analyst will provide financial analysis for the Program and ensure donor compliance. The Financial analyst will report to and work in consultation with the Country Finance Director as well as the Financial analyst for East Africa based in Washington DC.

Responsibilities
* Serve as main liaison on project financial issues between Country Director Kenya, Programs, Donors and other support teams.

* Interact with Program departments to ensure the accuracy of project financial data.
* Prepare and track budgets, prepare modifications and Activity realignments as necessary.
* Track and review departmental budgets in consultation with budget holders and conduct detailed activity status review giving input to budget holders.
* Review and analyze donor billing prepared by the Program and provide feedback to finance team and budget holders through financial reports, and respond to Donors on billing issues.
* Conduct business modeling and forecasting.
* Assess the financial implications of new or existing ventures.
* Monitor performance and efficiency of ongoing Donor projects; analyzing country/project monthly spending and highlighting possible problem areas.
* Identify ways to increase Program effectiveness and decrease cost.
* Coordinate with all available resources to answer any questions on project financial management or to resolve project financial issues
* Train Program staff on project financial management as required.
* Take part in departmental Audits and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
* Master of Business Administration/ Master of Science in Finance
* CFA (Certified Financial Analyst) is added advantage
* Proven record of excellent financial management experience
* 8 years of professional work experience
* Understanding of international donor regulations is desirable
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills and abilities to manage multiple tasks at the same time
* Experience working with various accounting software; experience working with ERP financial system such as Lawson preferred
* Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
* Superior communication and interpersonal skills in English
* Strong attention to detail
