Location: Sudan (the) – Juba

The Southern Sudan Area Office has currently supplies in all the warehouses in Juba, Malakal, Rumbek, Wau and Yambio with significant stock levels. UNICEF is sector lead for WASH, Nutrition and Education and sub sector lead for Child Protection. There is a need to have in place a robust system of inventory management, monitoring of supplies and reporting to all stakeholders.

The new version of UNITRACK has been installed in December 2010. The Southern Sudan Area Program needs a super user in order to ensure the accuracy of the data generated through its inventory.

Purpose of the position
Under the supervision of the Logistics Specialist, the UNITRACK super user will assist in the planning and implementation of the in-country logistics, transport and distribution of the supplies

Major Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide technical advice, support and guidance to the all five warehouse hubs on UNITRACK applications, systems and best practices for inventory, data recording and reporting.
* Ensure UNITRACK system is properly running in UNICEF Southern Sudan

* Manage the import of PGM/PO data from Proms to UNITRACK Central Site, and synchronize the data between central site and local sites (both ways).
* Follow-up and monitor the staff transactions on UNITRACK and correct any errors which occur on the system
* Provide training and support to UNICEF Southern Sudan staff as needed
* Ensure UNITRACK generated reports are circulated based on need of UNICEF programme sections
* Follow-up on pending logistics activity and provide report to Logistics Specialist for immediate follow-up
* Follow-up with IT section to ensure UNITRACK is installed for users based on needs and requirements
* Follow-up to ensure UNITRACK data base (DB) daily backup is done in all sites and maintain a copy of DB backup
* Undertake periodic physical check to ensure accurate data on the system
* Conduct follow-up training on UNITRACK for logistics staff and other users to improve performance.
* Manage and train on the job the staff on logistics and warehouse management
* Undertake field visits to other offices to ensure smooth functioning of the system logistics operations and monitoring purposes.
* Provide all reports related to stocks


Duration: One year

Minimum qualification and experience required
* University degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Management or a related field
* Two years of professional work experience in Supply/Logistics management at national or international levels
* Fluency in English and another UN language as required. Knowledge of a Sudanese language is an asset
