The Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring consistent and cost effective electrical servicing of machines and equipment in the company.

Job Details
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, co-ordinate and control electrical installations, machine servicing and repairs.
- Oversee preventive and periodic maintenance of plant and facilities.
- Ensure training of Machine Operators and other affected staff on correct electrical handling of machines in order to achieve high levels of efficiency.
- Maintain records on machines and other electrical applications within the company and monitor their performance and take corrective action accordingly.
- Maintain records related to cost and items used in electrical installations and servicing and ensure that they are efficiently used.
- Oversee electrical repairs of plant and other office facilities
- Coordinate trouble shooting for suspected electrical malfunctioning of machinery and equipment in the organization.
- Raise orders for spares and other required electrical items.
- Record and maintain the electricity consumption rates by the company and advise the Head of Maintenance accordingly.
- Advise the company on health and safety issues relating to use of electricity and electrical appliances.
Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications
- BSc. degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering, or BSc. in Mechatronics Engineering or BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Professional Qualifications
- Registered Engineer- Added advantage
Experience
- At least three years working experience in electrical field two of which must be at in a busy manufacturing organization
Skills
- Technical knowledge of electrical engineering, production machinery and PLC’s
- Good interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications
