The fastest growing newspaper in Kenya is looking for a strategic, seasoned visionary with a track record in a leadership role in print media to join our Senior Management team in the position of Chief Sub Editor.
Reporting to the Editor, the Chief Sub Editor will be responsible for ensuring that the tone, style and layout of final copy matches the Star's house style.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all copy is grammatically correct and factually sound.
- Provide leadership in final layout, page-plan and design and choice of appropriate headlines.
- Supervise the sub editing team, coach, mentor and manage the team's daily performance in line with the Star newspaper strategy.
Qualifications
- First Degree in a relevant field.
- A postgraduate diploma in journalism or mass communication is an added advantage but not essential.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in a senior sub editor position in a fast paced print media company.
