Jhpiego NGO Kenya Finance Job Vacancy

Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, is an international NGO supporting health programs
to improve the health of women and their families.

Jhpiego-Kenya works in close collaboration with both the Ministry of Medical Services and the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation in the areas of HIV, Malaria, TB, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Reproductive Health and Family Planning.

We are currently recruiting a Finance Officer with good organizational skills who is a team player,
dedicated, highly motivated, and willing to work in a high pressure office requiring multi-tasking.

Finance Officer
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer will provide financial and management support
to Jhpiego Nairobi finance office. S/he will handle day to day financial operations with emphasis on
accounts payable, bookkeeping and advance documentation.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain, monitor, and disburse funds from the project account(s) in accordance with Jhpiego’s
financial policies and procedures
• Code, track, vouch and accounting processes, invoices, advances and expense reports for payments
• Periodically reconcile suppliers, consultants and staff advance statements to ensure that pending
bills are settled on time and follows up on overdue expenses as necessary
• File accounting documents on timely basis and in compliance with laid down guidelines
• Collect and disburse cash and documents all cash transactions
• Assist to develop annual budgets for program activities and office costs
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports.

Required Qualifications:
•Bachelors degree and/or minimum 2 years relevant experience
•Minimum CPA II or equivalent
•Good knowledge of maintenance of ledgers, cash book and bank reconciliations
•Knowledge of USAID regulations would be an added advantage
•Good computers skills particularly use of spreadsheets and accounting packages
•Excellent organizational skills including the ability to handle a variety of assignments sometimes
under pressure of deadlines
•Be of high integrity and have a sense of confidentiality.
