Chemonics International is seeking long and short-term professionals for an anticipated 5-year USAID-funded project in Kenya focusing on increasing food security and agricultural productivity of staple foods in selected regions.
We are seeking specialists in the following areas:
* Food Security
* Staple foods production and value chains – maize, sorghum, cassava, yams
* Nutrition
* Farmer association development
* Harvesting, storage and processing
* Sanitary and phytosanitary measures
* Microfinance and SME finance
* Public-private partnerships
* Rural infrastructure
* Agriculture and trade policy and institutional environment
* Gender and youth empowerment
* Water resource management, ecological sustainability & pest management
* Capacity building and training
Qualifications:
* Advanced degree required in agriculture, economics, or related area
* At least 10 years experience promoting agricultural production and marketing in East African countries
* Proven track record in successful implementation of technical assignments and proven managerial/supervisory experience
* Prior experience with USAID highly preferred
* Experience working collaboratively with host government and international donors and local organizations
* Fluency in English is required.
