The Kenyan Civil Society Strengthening Program (KCSSP) is implemented under an award between USAID and Pact, Inc. (an international NGO) and Pact Kenya (a Kenyan NGO).
KCSSP is designed to provide support to qualified civil society organizations to advance accountable governance in Kenya, to cultivate a new cadre of leadership, to build a constituency for improved biodiversity and natural resources management and to promote conflict transformation in Kenya.

This APS is soliciting proposals from qualified CSOs working to enhance transparency and promote accountable governance in Kenya. “Programs” are defined as a range of interrelated and/or coordinated activities seeking to achieve specific results and impacts over the medium term (12-24 months).

These could be new activities or activities added to on-going work.

Applications are invited from the full range of NGOS registered in Kenya.

KCSSP also seeks to encourage the participation of all non-state actors that may be working to monitor the Government of Kenya (GoK) in terms of accountability and transparency and advocating for reforms.

In addition to traditional civil society organizations, grant making facilities will be open to media organizations, membership groups, private sector and professional associations, think tanks, and trade unions.

Both nascent as well as more mature organizations are encouraged to apply for these grants. While the strength of the overall design is important, consortia of non-state actors are also invited to apply and, accordingly, will receive additional weight in scoring.

Details of the APS can be downloaded from our websites; www.kcssp.org or www.pactkenya.org.
