SURVEILLANCE AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER

The Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) is a State Corporation with mandate to License, Supervise and Regulate deposit taking Sacco Societies in Kenya. SASRA seeks to recruit ten (10) qualified persons for positions of Surveillance and Compliance Officers in its SACCO Supervision Department.

Position: SURVEILLANCE AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Reporting to: MANAGER, COMPLIANCE

Job Summary:
The Surveillance and Compliance Officer will review and process license applications by SACCOs including, conducting surveillance, inspection and evaluation of the financial condition of SACCOs and report on their compliance with statutory requirements and regulations. He/ she will also evaluate individual requirements for licensed SACCOs and make recommendations on areas of improvements to assure financial safety and soundness of the SACCOs.
The SCO will train the societies and other stakeholders on the requirements of the Sacco Act and regulations there under. The Officers will also research and increase the body of knowledge of SACCO societies’ risk profile through financial analysis and investigative inspections and evaluations.

Requirements:
1.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Law or any related field;
2.Professional qualifications such as CPA II, CFA II or ACCA II
3.CISA or CISM qualification will be an added advantage;
4.Three years experience in auditing, compliance and/ or risk analysis function of financial institutions,              preferably from business advisory firms or regulatory agencies.
5.Strong analytical and problem solving skills
6.Good communication and interpersonal skills
7.Computer literate

Position: CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Reporting to: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Job Summary:
The Corporate Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies aimed at advancing SASRA’s mission and objectives. He/ she will develop and promote a positive corporate image including maintaining regular contacts with media representatives and stakeholders.
The CCO will be responsible for coordinating the development, production and delivery of promotional events and special publications on the role of SASRA in the socio-economic development of the country; research and write articles, edit newsletters, reports, journals and publicity materials, fact-sheets, speeches, internet web pages and other publications for internal and external audiences, including employees, stakeholders and the general public.

Requirements:
1.Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Journalism or equivalent qualifications.
2.A Master degree Public Relations will be an added advantage
3.Minimum of four (4) years relevant experience in corporate communications.
4.Have working knowledge of economic development issues and regulatory operations in the financial sector
5.Ability to write, edit and produce a variety of communications materials for release to media and other stakeholders
6.Experience in research and training in communication strategies, methods and techniques to staff and other stakeholders
7.Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with the media, government officials, employees, donors, stakeholders and the general public
