Our Client, a large transport company and a business leader in courier services with 45 branches in the region seeks to fill the following positions.

Managing Director

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director will provide leadership in the organization and oversee effective and efficient implementation of the business strategy to achieve organizational goals and objectives; advise the board on performance and investment opportunities; spearhead change management and organizational reform to optimize company performance and drive the company to sustainable profitability in a highly dynamic and competitive transport sector.
The successful candidate will safeguard the integrity of the organization by ensuring the effective management and efficient utilization of company resources; coordinate strategic partnerships with other organizations; and inculcate a performance driven culture in the entire organization.


Minimum Requirements


The ideal candidate should be a corporate executive serving or must have served at senior management levels, and in possession of the following qualifications:-
  • Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Strategic Management, Marketing, Finance or equivalent
  • Over 7 years experience in running a large commercial enterprise or at senior management level
  • Highly innovative, transformational and visionary leader with strong business acumen
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence, networking skills and experience in business negotiations.
  • Provide exceptional people leadership with a focus on building employee engagement and attracting top talent
  • Ability to formulate aggressive growth strategies, maintain strong market presence and ensure strong robust business development
  • Demonstrated competence in performance management for results and ability to lead, manage and motivate a large team and communicate a clear and compelling long term vision for the organization
Courier Manager

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Courier Manager will provide leadership to the courier services team and ensure effective and efficient courier service delivery.

S/he will develop and review the courier service strategy, policies, procedures and standards to ensure that inbound and outbound service quality meets customer requirements. The successful candidate will advise the management on customs regulations; represent the company’s interests in all courier customs /freight negotiation and liaise with security and transport department to ensure strict compliance to security procedures and prepares periodic management reports.

Minimum Requirements
  • Hold at least Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Poses Diploma in clearing and forwarding, logistics or equivalent qualifications
  • 5 years experience in Courier / clearing and forwarding in a busy service environment
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure; and deliver tangible results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business development skills, organization and coordination skills; and the ability to work independently, as part of a team, and in partnership with other organizations.
Competitive remuneration package commensurate with the position responsibilities and experience will be negotiated with the right candidate.

Phase One Review of Targeting Methodologies for Hunger Safety Net Programme Career Opportunity in Kenya

Oxfam GB is a member of Oxfam International.
The Hunger Safety Net Programme is a Government of Kenya-led project, funded by DFID, aiming at ‘establishing a government-led national social protection system delivering long-term, guaranteed cash transfers to extremely poor and vulnerable people’.
The Administration Component is headed by Oxfam GB, in partnership with CARE Kenya, Save the Children UK, ALDEF Kenya and WASDA. This Component is responsible for the targeting of the beneficiaries.
The three targeting methodologies include community based targeting; social pension (pure categorical old age based); and dependency ratio categorical.
